Week Nine of Summer Shares

Summer shares are almost to a close. One more week to go after this weeks share, ending on August 9th. We take a two week break, giving us time to regroup and begin Fall Shares August 30th.

Every year we have something that challenges us. This year is the Japanese Beetle attacking the fruit before it ripens. We have always had issues of these pests moving in but this year is the worst yet. We are building traps to help control them, but meanwhile we are picking our peaches before they destroy them. Oh, there is always some kind of a challenge!

This weeks basket:

Onions

Tomatoes

Beans or carrots

Peaches

Figs

Basil

Cherry tomatoes

Zucchini and summer squash

Tomatillos

Microgreens

Satsuma plums

Peppers

Also! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! We need baskets returned. For our Fall Shares we absolutely will no longer allow any baskets to leave the farm. If you forget to bring a basket we do have boxes in the old Chevy pickup you are welcome to use instead. We have purchased over 25 NEW baskets this year alone and still find ourselves scrambling each week to find something to put the produce in. Thanks so much for you help!
