We are less than a week away for Spring Shares! April 4th will be the first pick up. While veggies were slow growing early spring, the last few weeks of sunshine has really brought on some growth! We were a little nervous, but it seems like everything is on track….. finally! Looking forward to cabbages, spring lettuce, kale, spinach, arugula, GREAT looking radishes, leeks and other great produce we started late fall for this springs harvest. We will be sending out our first email within the next few days, so please watch for that! Remember, pick up time is after 2 pm to 6 pm on Thursday. Mark your calendar for the next eight weeks of spring shares!

Bread Shares Week 7
Today’s artisan bread is golden raisin, fennel seed and orange zest.
This fried fruit variation gives the loaf a sweeter flavor profile. Golden raisins and fennel seeds are a classic combination. I enjoy this bread for breakfast, toasted and spread with butter and marmalade.
We will have a few extras today for those who want to give it a try.
Next week is our last bread share of the winter bread shares.
Bread Share
Today is our first day of artisan bread shares for 2019. Please remember pickup is between 4 pm and 6 pm. Your bread is made fresh the day of pickup. It comes in a paper bread bag. It can stay in that bag for the remainder of the day. When you get it home and once it is cool you can transfer it to a plastic bag to ensure freshness for a longer period of time if you wish or eat it right away!
Today’s bread is roasted garlic.

Week Seven of Fall Shares
We so blessed to have rain that last few weeks!
It’s been a fun week with our new morning visitors. Turkeys! There are 13 that come into the orchard and hang out for 30 minutes or so.
This week we won the ugly carrot award. We planted in a new bed…..and the result was….ugly. But rather than wasting these “curvy girls” we put them into your baskets anyway. They taste great and are perfect for roasting with a little balsamic vinegar, olive oil and Italian herbs. Scrub a dub dub, they are a little dirty still because of the rainy morning they didn’t get cleaned well.
One more week to go before we take our rest for the winter season. This coming week we will be pulling much of our gardens out getting ready for winter crops and garlic. So, that being said there will be LOTS of extras for the last week.
Don’t forget, Chelsea (the little baker she is) has made some fresh seasonal muffins today!
Shares are open for the following season now.

We won’t be doing winter baskets, but we will have winter crops available throughout the winter months to tie you over till spring shares. We have had several request to open our shares for next season…. With having a little more growing space and man (haha! Women) hands, we decided to go ahead an post next years shares.
