As many of you know our Chelsea is due the 1st of August. Today will be her last day till next spring. She will still be growing her garden for shares, but will be home nesting, caring for Hudson and getting prepared for the new baby girl soon to arrive.
Be sure to wish her luck today and give her a big thanks for putting together your baskets.
Next week Kira will handling and putting together baskets. We love how everything works out with these girls and I personally really appreciate and love them both!
Time is flying! We finished with Spring Shares last week, we are off this week for garden prep, planting and planning. Next week, June 18th our summer shares will begin! Summer squash is coming on beautifully! Green Beans, onions, apricots and a few tomatoes will be in the first basket! We love summer!
Please remember to mark your calendars and pickup is between 2 and 6 pm. As much as we would love to have shares ready at 6 am (haha) we just can’t manage. If pick up days or times don’t work for you, please have someone pick up for you and let us know so we know who to be on the look out for!

Yes, it is that time of year again. One day it is 70 degrees, the sun is shinning, we are working in the garden, planting seeds and the next….snow flurries, high winds, 26 degrees and looking for the frost blankets! This is how we roll in Hurricane Valley! Nothing new, just the transition from winter to longer days of spring coming near.
This week we made much headway in the gardens. Peas, brassica crops and many greens were planted. Some are under frost blankets and some left to fend for themselves. We always look forward the the renewal of the gardening year by the first little seedlings popping their heads through the garden soil we attended to early in the year with compost, kelp, rock dust and much love.
This week we have a garden/farm tour of our little place and we are looking forward to meeting many new friends.
For 2020 we are excited about many new crops we will be introducing to our shares. Asparagus should be presenting itself in a month. We are already harvesting Cheddar cheese cauliflower, broccolini, lettuces, mesclun mixes, mustard greens, chard and other wonderful greens. Please stop by for some fresh garden goodness! We have had a wonderful mild winter this year which has blessed us with abundance.

When you come grab your baskets today (July 3rd), you are welcome to pick a big box of extra apricots to go with your shares. We do have some extra boxes in the orchard. Help yourself!
